Sprinkle Bakes: Chocolate French Toast with Panera Bread

Sprinkle Bakes: Chocolate French Toast with Panera Bread

Bow making... should I even entertain the idea?

So I've gone out on another whim and decided i want to start making my own bows. I can barely sew. I once had this thought that i should make tutu's.. haha that ended quickly when i went to the craft store and was so confused by all the different material and bands and band widths. I guess as a mother of 3 girls i need to kinda step up my game. First and for most i think i should probably learn how to actually work my sewing machine other then just turning it on and staring at it. I tend to get jealous of all these people who can make such cute crafty things for there kids. I can barley color in the lines lol. But I've taken the dive, Ive ordered ribbons and clippies and flowers off of ebay ( I have an ebay addiction that I'm not proud of either) and im going to try it. Heck, what could go wrong? I burn myself with a hot glue gun, prick all 10 of my fingers with a needle, and get overwhelmed... sounds like an adventure to me :) Ideally i would like to make one of these....
but I'm no Martha Stewart, barely a Betty Homemaker.. so i'm going to ATTEMPT to make one of these chunky bows.....

cute right? maybe?

The Good Wife's Guide
From Housekeeping Monthly, 13 May, 1955.

~Have dinner ready. Plan ahead, even the night before, to have a delicious meal ready on time for his return. This is a way of letting him know that you have be thinking about him and are concerned about his needs. Most men are hungry when they get home and the prospect of a good meal is part of the warm welcome needed.

~Prepare yourself. Take 15 minutes to rest so you'll be refreshed when he arrives. Touch up your make-up, put a ribbon in your hair and be fresh-looking. He has just been with a lot of work-weary people.

~Be a little gay and a little more interesting for him. His boring day may need a lift and one of your duties is to provide it.

~Clear away the clutter. Make one last trip through the main part of the house just before your husband arrives. Run a dustcloth over the tables.

~During the cooler months of the year you should prepare and light a fire for him to unwind by. Your husband will feel he has reached a haven of rest and order, and it will give you a lift too. After all, catering to his comfort will provide you with immense personal satisfaction.

~Minimize all noise. At the time of his arrival, eliminate all noise of the washer, dryer or vacuum. Encourage the children to be quiet.

~Be happy to see him.

~Greet him with a warm smile and show sincerity in your desire to please him.

~Listen to him. You may have a dozen important things to tell him, but the moment of his arrival is not the time. Let him talk first - remember, his topics of conversation are more important than yours.

~Don't greet him with complaints and problems.

~Don't complain if he's late for dinner or even if he stays out all night. Count this as minor compared to what he might have gone through at work.

~Make him comfortable. Have him lean back in a comfortable chair or lie him down in the bedroom.

~Have a cool or warm drink ready for him.

~Arrange his pillow and offer to take off his shoes. Speak in a low, soothing and pleasant voice.

~Don't ask him questions about his actions or question his judgment or integrity. Remember, he is the master of the house and as such will always exercise his will with fairness and truthfulness. You have no right to question him.

~A good wife always knows her place.

I stumbled upon this and had to laugh at how times have changed. If i did all these things for nick for when he got home, he would think i did something bad, or spent all the money in the house haha! Which actually makes me feel kinda bad :/ Does this define a good wife, not at all, but i feel like i don't even come close to these things! In fact,I usually do the exact opposite! He comes home and I instantly start barking orders for him to help, its a fiasco! Granted.. he is use to it, that first hour of when he gets home is a big transition for the kids, they get all hyped up and run around like bats outa hell! Its quite overwhelming. I feel kinda bad because here he is working his butt off all day long,( he is the school bus mechanic for our small little town) and i sit at home with kids, Desperate Housewives, Cleaning products and Facebook (mostly FB and Blog stalking)! I can say i bust my butt all day, but I'd be lying! He knows that too, when we argue, its usually for stupid reasons, i always resort to "ill work hard all day long in this house" HAHAHA thank God he is patient with me, thats all im going to say :)thanks for listening... if you are listening :/

Death of an Innocent

I went to a party, Mom,
I remembered what you said.
You told me not to drink, Mom,
So I drank soda instead.
I really felt proud inside, Mom,
The way you said I would.
I didn't drink and drive, Mom,
Even though the others said I should.

I know I did the right thing, Mom,
I know you are always right.
Now the party is finally ending, Mom,
As everyone is driving out of sight.

As I got into my car, Mom,
I knew I'd get home in one piece.
Because of the way you raised me,
So responsible and sweet.

I started to drive away, Mom,
But as I pulled out into the road,
The other car didn't see me, Mom,
And hit me like a load.

As I lay there on the pavement, Mom
I hear the policeman say,
"The other guy is drunk," Mom,
And now I'm the one who will pay.

I'm lying here dying, Mom...
I wish you'd get here soon.
How could this happen to me, Mom?
My life just burst like a balloon.

There is blood all around me, Mom,
And most of it is mine.
I hear the medic say, Mom,
I'll die in a short time.

I just wanted to tell you, Mom,
I swear I didn't drink.
It was the others, Mom.
The others didn't think.

He was probably at the same party as I.
The only difference is, he drank
And I will die.

Why do people drink, Mom?
It can ruin your whole life.
I'm feeling sharp pains now.
Pains just like a knife.

The guy who hit me is walking, Mom,
And I don't think it's fair.
I'm lying here dying
And all he can do is stare.

Tell my brother not to cry, Mom.
Tell Daddy to be brave.
And when I go to heaven, Mom,
Put "Daddy's Girl" on my grave.

Someone should have told him, Mom,
Not to drink and drive.
If only they had told him, Mom,
I would still be alive.

My breath is getting shorter, Mom.
I'm becoming very scared.
Please don't cry for me, Mom.
When I needed you,
you were always there.

I have one last question, Mom.
Before I say good bye.
I didn't drink and drive,
So why am I the one to die?

Ladies and Gents, if you do go out tonight please be safe! AAA and Budweiser are offering a free ride AND free car tow to your house tonight. Have fun but please keep safe! If you drink and can't get a ride call 1-800-AAA-HELP and they will come pick you up!

Life is that you make of it.........

"This life is what you make it. Not matter what, you're going to mess up sometimes, it's a universal truth. But the good part is you get to decide how you're going to mess it up. Girls will be your friends - they'll act like it anyway. But just remember, some come, some go. The ones that stay with you through everything - they're your true best friends. Don't let go of them. Also remember, sisters make the best friends in the world. As for lovers, well, they'll come and go too. And babe, I hate to say it, most of them - actually pretty much all of them are going to break your heart, but you can't give up because if you give up, you'll never find your soul mate. You'll never find that half who makes you whole and that goes for everything. Just because you fail once, doesn't mean you're gonna fail at everything. Keep trying, hold on, and always, always, always believe in yourself, because if you don't, then who will, sweetie? So keep your head high, keep your chin up, and most importantly, keep smiling, because life's a beautiful thing and there's so much to smile about."— Marilyn Monroe

Ok im back......

Hiii! Sorry I haven't been on in a while, not that anyone is listening :/ I really need to advertise my boring blog. Soo a lot has happened since i was last on, I drank the water again.. i bit by the bug... i caught the fever... I'M HAVING ANOTHER BABY!! yep.. laugh all you want, i do sometimes! Yes we know what prevents it, we know what causes it... i just love it! who are you to judge :P I am currently 23 weeks pregnant, and out of my mind. Its another girl... yep, Nick apparently doesn't make boys. Fine by me, depressing for him. Oh well! I... we.. haven't decided on a name yet, I have lots that i like, none that i love.. except Ava Brynn... i am hung up on it. Poo-Head Nick isn't a fan though. But hey.. if I am growing this child, housing this child, birthing this child, ruining my far from sexy body for this child, i feel like i should choose the name! I mean come on.. If nick got a dog, trained it, fed it, walked it, and took it hunting.. do you think Id be able to name it? "here princess" Are you out of your mind! So i want to say we are going with the name Ava, but he says no.. Hmmm he might get some "birthing drugs" when it comes time to fill out the birth cert ;) ok well the princess are sick and we are off to the docs, i think they have the croup.. oh the joys! Toodles~
